Lowe’s Build & Grow

September 23, 2010

Did you know Lowe’s offers free activities for kids two Saturdays a month?  The program is called Lowe’s Build & Grow and they offer all kinds of different wood projects that are kid-friendly.  We’ve never actually participated in one but this week’s (Saturday, September 25 at 10:00am) is a fire truck that looks super fun!  Each child also receives safety goggles, an apron, a project-themed patch and a certificate – all FREE!  For more information about Lowe’s Build & Grow, check here. Also, you can call your local Lowe’s to see if they are participating… The store closest to our home wasn’t listed on the Build & Grow site but when I called, they said not only are they participating but I didn’t need to register online.

These are always fun! My kids love them. Our store never gave out the safety goggles, but our kids have the aprons and patches. Definitely a fun, free thing to do!

We started taking our son (3-1/2) this summer and we all have a blast! He needs a little help finishing off the nails, but I love to let him learn and explore instead of doing it all for him. We have never pre-registered, just show up and gather our supplies and build our project!! We have received the apron and goggles and he actually uses them to be a scientist, help Dad work on projects around the house, puts them on to mow the lawn etc! Highly recommend it and the free part makes it even better!!!

  3. Thanks for the info, girls!! My husband is planning on taking our older 2 (ages 8 and 3 1/2) this Saturday!
