Summer Reading = Free Books and More!

June 10, 2011

Something I am super thankful for is that my daughter has inherited my love of reading!  One way to keep kids reading over the summer is all the fabulous summer reading programs at both book stores and local libraries.  Both Barnes & Noble and Borders have summer reading programs.  Once you’re completed your summer reading, you can turn in the form for a FREE book from the list.  More details on Barnes & Noble’s can be found here and check here for Borders.  My daughter loved picking out her free books last year!

Also, the Columbus library does a great program.  You can get more details here or at your local branch.  My wonderful neighbor Tara also told me that there is a summer reading program for adults, as well, where you get little prizes just like the kids!  Only have smaller kids at home?  She said time read to them counts, too, so sign ’em up!

UPDATE: Christi also mentioned in the comments that Half Price Books, Pottery Barn Kids and Huntington Educational all have summer reading programs, too!  The Half Priced Books one looks fun… Your child can earn a $5 gift card!

Half priced books and Pottery Barn Kids and Huntington Educational has some too. Yes, younger kids and adults can get involved with the CL reading program. I won a prize a couple of years ago.
